About

Credentials & Approach

As a therapist, I think you’ll find me down-to-earth and easy to talk with. I care that you feel seen and heard, and view our work together as a collaborative process. While I strive to be an attentive and attuned listener, my style is more conversational and interactive than “blank slate.” I honor both the importance of holding space for the serious and challenging aspects of life, and an appreciation that sometimes laughter really is the best medicine.

My clinical approach is based in traditional talk therapy modalities, but infused with more somatic (mind/body) understanding. I draw from the fields of mindfulness and mindful self-compassion, neuroscience, nervous system understanding, and research on well-being and resilience.

Areas of concern I frequently support clients in navigating include anxiety, depression, relationship and connection concerns, and the stress or uncertainty that often comes with new life stages or personal and professional transitions. Additionally, as a mother who is also at midlife, I bring both personal and clinical familiarity with these times of adjustment and reevaluation.

I feel fortunate to have a practice that includes the two states I have called “home” over my lifetime. I am licensed in both Maine and California and have had “brick and mortar” practices in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Portland. Currently, I am based in Southern Maine (Brunswick) where I continue to enjoy working virtually with people in both states, and for those in the area, in-person, as well.
